Overview

The Wait is an independent community tool for rough airport passport control wait estimates. We collect only the information needed to receive traveller reports, estimate current waits, protect the service from obvious abuse, and operate the app.

Information we collect

• Airport, direction, line type, e-gate outcome, and wait times you submit.
• An anonymous browser/device identifier stored in your browser.
• Technical logs produced by hosting and database providers.

We do not ask for your name, email, passport nationality, flight number, precise location, or account login.

The browser identifier is used to limit and edit same-day reports. You can reset it by clearing this site's browser storage.

How we use information

Reports are used to estimate current waits, show the most recent report timing, understand e-gate reliability, and improve historical calibration. Priority-line reports are stored separately and are not used in the main wait estimate.

We process reports and basic technical data to provide the service, protect it from misuse, and improve estimates. Where applicable, we rely on legitimate interests in operating and improving the service.

Retention

Raw reports are intended to be retained for up to 90 days. We may keep aggregated, non-identifying statistics for longer to improve estimates.

Service providers

The app uses Vercel for hosting, Supabase for report storage, and AeroDataBox for flight data. These providers may process technical information as part of operating the service. Some providers may process information outside your country, using their own safeguards and terms.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the use of personal data, and to complain to a data protection authority. Because reports are anonymous and do not include accounts, we may need the browser identifier or report details to find a specific report.
